The Pathology Department carries out both clinical pathology and anatomical pathology to diagnose patients.  Using tissue specimens prepared by the Clinical Testing section the pathologists of our department will analyze and diagnose cancers and other conditions.  In addition, they work together with the Clinical Testing section’s technicians on anatomical pathology studies.

 

Both disciplines involve full-time and visiting pathology specialists as well as dentists to work with other departments’ specialists in order to arrive at a diagnosis.  In addition, our facility is accredited by the Japanese Society of Pathology and the Japanese Society of Clinical Cytology as an educational facility, and we work to train doctors aiming for a specialty in one of pathology’s many disciplines.
