As a hospital providing emergency critical care services, most of the cases we treat in this department involve broken bones and other injuries related to trauma.  And as the only hospital in southern Tochigi with a tuberculosis ward, we also treat cases of bone-joint tuberculosis.

 

As the population ages, we’ve seen a dramatic increase in the number of hip fractures – usually a break in the neck of the femur – and we perform well over 100 such procedures every year.  Working together with the operating room staff and anesthesia department, we aim to treat patients as soon as possible after their injury and get them back into their regular daily routine quickly.
