Our department’s staff of specialist surgeons works to treat conditions related to many of the body’s major glands and organs, including the mammaries, esophagus, stomach, duodenum, liver, gall bladder, pancreas, large and small intestine, rectum and anus.  While conventional surgical techniques are typical, we also carry out endoscopic procedures when possible to ease patient burden and lower recovery times. When the patient’s condition permits, we also promote non-surgical treatment of peritonitis resulting from gastrointestinal perforation as well as appendicitis, avoiding if possible the need for emergency surgery.
For cancer patients, we employ the latest chemotherapies as well as hormone and radiation treatments.  Since 2006 we have also implemented an outpatient chemotherapy program staffed by specialist nurses which permits chemotherapy patients to avoid the need for admission.
